One of ISSUE Magazine’s primary focuses is to be as much use to artists and writers as possible. In addition to publishing a quarterly magazine, we also have a few side projects which we think might be handy to the creative community in Vancouver. Hopefully we can continue to add more as time goes on.
EMERGING ARTISTS’ EXHIBITION RESOURCE
Compiled by Jenn Dickieson, Barbara Matthews, Alex Hill, Brynn McNab and Mona Min, this little booklet outlines what to expect when you are exhibiting in Vancouver. It covers basic info about as many exhibition spaces as we could wrangle replies from: how to apply, what you can expect in terms of payment or sales, and what kind of work they are looking for. We also received helpful hints from directors, curators, and all the other people who work hard to make the Vancouver art scene exist. Clear and to the point, it is attempting to be the artist’s self-help guide that might actually be useful. (Launches May 21, 2015)
ARTIST-RUN CENTRE MAP
A Google embed map marking out all the artist-run centres in Vancouver. Also has some more information about what an artist-run centre is, anyway.
SWARM 2015 SCHEDULE
