ISSUE 4. It is Happening.

YES! In case you were wondering, we ARE still around. Back from the winter holidays, and better than ever with ISSUE 4. We will be showing it to our adoring public on Saturday, January 24th.

In the meantime, here is a drawing from Andrea Flockhart, who will be featured in the forthcoming issue.

Upcoming Events & Deadlines

Gosh, AUTUMN is upon us! How exciting! Look what we’re doing this fall:

Our unsolicited submission deadline is TOMORROW, SEPTEMBER 2ND!

On WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 3RD, our editor Brynn McNab is participating in a discussion panel with Sky Goodden, former executive editor of Blouin Art Info,  Kevin Griffin from The Vancouver Sun, and Jonah Peter Gray, an independent curator and former publisher of Pyramid Power. This will follow Sky Goodden’s talk about art criticism and publishing on the West Coast.  Put together by Wil Aballe Art Projects, this will take place at the Burrard Arts Foundation (108 East Broadway) at 6pm.

Next week is SWARM15 on SEPTEMBER 11TH, and 12TH, where many of the artist run centres in Vancouver will be  opening for the season. See a list of what will be going on HERE. The same weekend, the New Forms Festival will be going on at Science World!

Two weeks later, the VA/BF (Vancouver Arts Book Fair) will be happening at the Vancouver Art Gallery, and we will be launching our third issue in conjunction with the preview night FRIDAY, OCTOBER 3RD at 9PM!

On SATURDAY OCTOBER 4TH, editor Brynn McNab will be participating in a discussion panel on artist-run publishing with Mariane Bourcheix-Laporte and Jonathan Middleton at the book fair at 1pm. We will also be hosting a booth at the fair all weekend.

Speaking of book fairs, this year we will be represented by Publication Studio at the NYArt Book Fair at MoMA PS1, September 26th-28th, and the London Art Book Fair at Whitechapel Gallery September 27th-28th.

Come visit us at the Vancouver Art Book Fair

A big THANKS-A-TON to everyone who came out to our launch party last Thursday. We almost sold out of our first run of copies! We have bound some more however, and they are now available at READ Books, the Or Gallery, Publication Studio Vancouver, and Board of Trade Co’s Union Street location.

Our next issue will come out just in time for the Vancouver Art Book Fair, hosted by Project Space in the Vancouver Art Gallery. Come visit us, and a whole host of other phenomenal art publishers October 4 & 5 this fall. Brynn McNab, our editor-in-chief, will be on a panel discussing artist-run publishing in Canada with Jonathan Middleton and Mariane Bourcheix-Laporte on Saturday October 5th, at 1pm. Check out the website for the book fair HERE.
